Why go
The main reason to enter is the dialogue between the restrained church interior and the intensely colored windows by Marc Chagall and Augusto Giacometti. The crypt adds evidence of the siteʼs long abbey history. This is a small, focused stop, but services and special events can interrupt tourist access.
What to look for
- Read Chagallʼs five choir windows as a sequence rather than isolated color panels.
- Descend to the crypt for traces of the former abbey and earlier building phases.
Useful to know
- Check special access notices before crossing the river; services can delay visitor entry.
- Combine the church with nearby Münsterhof, St. Peter and Grossmünster on foot.
