Art and Olympic Memory on Montjuïc

Why go

This Montjuïc route is for visitors who want a full day of art with a clear change of subject at the end. Begin at CaixaForum Barcelona, housed in the former Casaramona textile factory, then take the uphill walk to Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya for its Romanesque mural paintings and views from Palau Nacional. The Fundació Joan Miró adds the artist’s collection and terraces within the hill landscape. At the Olympic sports museum, follow the 1992 Games story before a shorter stop at the stadium’s visitor area. The hill paths take time even though these sites sit close together. Check the museum calendars; stadium access can change during events.
