San Giacomo
Look beside the cathedral for San Giacomo’s restrained stone façade, a smaller church that makes the contrast between medieval form and later remodelling easier to notice.
The cathedral can dominate this square so completely that San Giacomo is easy to miss. Giving the smaller church a separate pause reveals a different scale of religious architecture and a more restrained street presence. The exterior is the reliable experience; the richly altered interior requires confirmed access before inclusion.
