Cartoonmuseum Basel
Pick Cartoonmuseum Basel if drawings, comics and visual storytelling appeal more than a broad fine-art collection; its exhibitions make a focused indoor stop.
This museum is about how artists tell stories through sequential images, caricature and graphic wit. Its changing exhibitions mean the particular subject matters, so it is worth looking at the current programme before choosing it. The smaller, specialised format can balance a day otherwise dominated by larger art institutions.
