Bergen Maritime Museum
Ship models, original objects and boats tell the long story of seafaring at Bergen Maritime Museum. It is the most direct indoor route into the port city’s wider maritime history.
The museum traces voyages, trade and life at sea over many centuries, with archaeological material as well as model and full-size craft. This breadth helps explain why Bergen looked outward across the North Sea. It is a distinct visit from the Fisheries Museum: the maritime museum covers seafaring generally, while the latter concentrates on coastal fishing and its communities.
