Old Central Fire Station Collection
The old central fire station holds historic engines, horse-drawn equipment and Bergen fire-service objects. The preserved station gives the collection a stronger sense of place than a generic display room.
Bergen’s repeated city fires shaped its buildings and urban memory. Here the focus turns to the people and equipment used to respond to later emergencies, within a station that largely retains its original character. It is a separate history visit from the cathedral or Bryggen, where visitors mainly see the consequences of fire and rebuilding. Verify access with the collection before travelling.
