Nordnes
Walk the peninsula west of central Bergen for narrow lanes, wooden houses and waterfront views. Nordnes works as a neighbourhood stroll, with Bergen Aquarium as a separate ticketed stop near the tip.
Why go
Between Vågen and Puddefjorden, Nordnes feels distinct from the busy Bryggen waterfront. Its lanes reveal older wooden streetscapes, while the peninsula tip returns you to open water and a wider view of the city’s setting. It also offers a natural approach to the aquarium at the end of the peninsula.
What to look for
Narrow lanes pass wooden houses.
The peninsula has water on both its Vågen and Puddefjorden sides.
The waterfront near the tip opens to broader views.
Useful to know
Allow for steep or cobbled streets on a walking loop.
Check Bergen Aquarium access separately if you want to add an indoor visit.
