Rosenkrantz Tower
This fortified Renaissance tower inside Bergenhus combines a former residence with defensive architecture. Climbing through it is a separate visit from walking the fortress grounds.
Why go
The tower was built in the sixteenth century and preserves a different phase of Bergenhus from medieval Håkon’s Hall. Its rooms and stairways make the building itself the main exhibit, so visitors interested in architecture gain more than a distant exterior view. Because the interior visit may involve narrow stairs, confirm current access and suitability before committing to it.
