Why go
This set gives several ways to see the city without forcing them into one route. The Cité and its basilica form a close pair; Carcassonne Cathedral sits in the lower town. The Aude and Pont Marengo provide open-air perspectives, while the lake calls for its own longer outing.
Useful to know
- The Cité streets and Château Comtal have different access arrangements; decide separately whether to add the castle.
- Choose between the river, canal and lake according to the time and weather available.
