Mikvé Israel-Emanuel Synagogue
The sand-floored synagogue offers a concentrated introduction to Curaçao’s Jewish heritage. A visit combines the historic sanctuary with cultural interpretation in the same compact complex.
The sanctuary’s sand-covered floor and mahogany furnishings make its long history tangible. This remains a religious place as well as a visitor destination, so the interior deserves a quieter pace than the surrounding shopping streets. Treat the synagogue and associated museum as one visit rather than two separate stops.
