Outdoor walks and façade observations. Interior admission is not included.

The full story

A circular rotunda, colored marble and a neoclassical façade make City Hall a compact architectural stop beside nearby Dublin Castle.

City Hall began as the Royal Exchange, and its grand central hall still expresses the confidence of eighteenth-century merchant Dublin. The rotunda is the main visual payoff; exhibitions add civic history when open. Its location makes even a short visit worthwhile.

  • The domed rotunda ringed by columns and marble
  • The sloping façade facing Parliament Street

Combine it with Dublin Castle across the junction

Check ceremony closures before counting on the interior
