Museo de Bellas Artes de Granada
Granada's Fine Arts Museum occupies the upper floor of Palacio de Carlos V. Its galleries add local painting and sculpture to a visit centered on the Alhambra's architecture.
The collection follows Granadan art from the late fifteenth century into the modern period, with a room devoted to Alonso Cano. That local focus makes the museum a useful counterpoint to the city's churches and palaces. The Renaissance palace itself is part of the experience, so the courtyard and galleries work well together.
What to look for
A dedicated room presents the work of Granada artist Alonso Cano.
The galleries trace local art across several centuries.
The museum sits above Palacio de Carlos V's circular courtyard.
Useful to know
