Stockmann Helsinki City Center
Stockmann Helsinki City Center fills a central block beside Mannerheimintie and Aleksanterinkatu, combining a major department store with a long-established Helsinki meeting point.
Why go
The store is useful for broad shopping under one roof, but the more place-specific detail is outside: the clock at the entrance hall, known as Stockan kello, has become a familiar rendezvous point in the city centre. The preserved Argos façade also shows how the store expanded across its block.
What to look for
Stockan kello, the clock at the entrance hall, is a well-known central meeting point.
The store occupies the block bounded by Mannerheimintie, Aleksanterinkatu, Keskuskatu and Pohjoisesplanadi.
When the Argos building was incorporated in 1989, its façade was retained as part of the enlarged complex.
Useful to know
Store hours are schedule-based and seasonal exceptions may replace the normal timetable.
Individual businesses and services within the building may follow different hours.
