Discovery Green
Discovery Green combines a lake, public art, play areas and lawns opposite the convention center. It suits an outdoor pause in downtown or a family stop between larger commitments.
The park gives downtown a more varied walking experience than its surrounding blocks of large buildings. Native plants edge Kinder Lake, live oaks shade the Brown Foundation Promenade, and art provides specific things to seek out. The lawns also open views toward the skyline rather than enclosing you in it.
What to look for
Kinder Lake is lined with native wetland plants.
Listening Vessels and Synchronicity of Color bring public art into the park.
The Brown Foundation Promenade passes beneath mature live oaks.
Useful to know
Combine the park with the convention center frontage across Avenida de las Americas.
Distinguish an ordinary park visit from special events and activity rentals, which have separate terms.
