Palacio de la Unión
The Club de la Unión’s headquarters completes a corner of Plaza Mayor. Treat its palace as an exterior architecture stop unless a public event offers access.
At the meeting of Jirón de la Unión and Jirón Huallaga, this twentieth-century building adds another layer to the square’s grand facades. The club dates to 1868, while its present palace opened in 1942. Seeing both facts together helps separate the institution’s age from the building in front of you.
What to look for
The palace occupies a Plaza Mayor corner.
Its present building opened in 1942.
Useful to know
Look at it during a circuit of Plaza Mayor and Jirón de la Unión.
