Why go
This is a close-grained old-town route for architecture and history. Start among Renaissance doors and courtyards, then move south through the tighter squares toward Saint-Georges and the river. Temple du Change and the historic courthouse broaden the story from merchants to civic power. The full list is ambitious because several stops overlap spatially; treat small squares as observations and keep the cathedral as the main optional interior if access and time allow.
Useful to know
- Enter only traboules clearly marked as open to the public.
- Use small squares as short observations rather than hour-long visits.
- Keep voices low around residential courtyards.
