Gustav Adolfs torg
A broad landscaped square south of the old core, Gustav Adolfs torg mixes fountains, mature trees and nineteenth-century facades. It works as a pause between city districts.
The square marks Malmö’s expansion beyond its old defensive works. Walk around its sculpted fountains and the ornate northern building line to see a civic space from a different era than Stortorget. Its position also makes it an easy link between the center and Triangeln.
What to look for
Sivert Lindblom’s fountains animate the square.
The northern “Rivieran” row shows elaborate revival facades.
Useful to know
Use the square as a walking link between Stortorget and the southern center.
