Why go
This is a good first walk for visitors who want Toledo’s main historic setting without trying to see every monument in one day. The square gives you a clear starting point, while Santa Cruz adds a quieter look at art inside a former hospital. Allow a generous visit to the cathedral; its rooms and details reward time more than a quick circuit. San Ildefonso finishes the route with another church interior and a different view over the dense roofscape. The stops are close enough to walk, though Toledo’s sloping streets make the short connections feel longer. Take a break between the museum and cathedral if you want an unhurried day.
