Harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore

Orient yourself downtown, follow the harbour to Stanley Park, then choose one major North Shore experience before returning through Gastown or Chinatown.

Harbour, Stanley Park and the North Shore

Why go

This ambitious route reveals Vancouver’s defining relationship with water, forest and mountains without pretending every major sight fits comfortably into one day. Downtown, the Vancouver Lookout, Canada Place and the Marine Building form a compact architectural opening; Stanley Park is the essential landscape stop. On the North Shore, select Capilano River Regional Park, Capilano Suspension Bridge Park or Grouse Mountain according to budget, weather and energy, then treat Gastown or Chinatown as an optional finish.
