Why go
Begin around Nieuwmarkt and the Amsterdam Stock Exchange to follow the city from market square to commercial power. Then choose between the Verzetsmuseum's account of resistance, the working Port of Amsterdam, or a more recreational stop such as Amsterdam Arena or Madame Tussauds. Keukenhof and Madurodam are separate excursions, not quick additions to the centre. The list is deliberately wide, so use it as a menu: pick a historical thread or one outlying attraction rather than trying to complete every stop in a day.
