Charles Duncan O'Neal Bridge

Cross Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge for a compact view over Bridgetown’s Careenage and civic centre. The public crossing makes the waterfront and nearby buildings easy to read together.

Why go

Charles Duncan O’Neal Bridge is a defined viewpoint on Bridge Street. From the crossing, look along the Careenage toward the old bond houses, then back toward the squares and Parliament Buildings. The bridge spans the Constitution River and gives a different angle from Chamberlain Bridge farther west. It is also a working street crossing, so stop only where there is space beside pedestrian movement. A few minutes here can orient the rest of a central Bridgetown walk.

What to look for

  • The Careenage from the bridge.
  • Old bond houses along the water.
  • The civic squares and Parliament in the wider view.

Useful to know

  • Keep the working crossing clear and follow any temporary traffic controls.
