Why go
This Bern walk suits visitors who want open air, changing river views and a gentler pace than a sequence of large museums. Start at the Bärenpark, then climb to Rosengarten to look back over the Old Town. Descend toward Nydeggbrücke and take time to compare it with the older Untertorbrücke nearby. From there, return through the lower town past the Rathaus and finish at the Münster Terrace above the Aare. Pause at the Rathaus exterior as you return toward the Münster Terrace. Expect a climb early in the outing and check conditions before planning a long outdoor visit.
