Octagon
A square base beside Curetes Street marks the Octagon, a once eight-sided funerary monument. The surviving form is modest, and the occupant's identity remains uncertain despite long-standing interpretations.
This small stop rewards careful looking: the ground-level base hints at a more elaborate eight-sided structure that once rose above it. Its setting among the monuments of Curetes Street also shows how funerary memory entered the urban route. Avoid attaching a certain name to the burial, and examine the remains only from the permitted visitor path.
