Why go
This compact Niš route is for visitors who want time for remembrance as well as the older city. Begin at Crveni Krst concentration camp, giving its buildings and interpretation your full attention before moving on. Walk toward Niš Fortress for a change of pace among the defenses and open grounds, then continue south to Tinkers Alley to look at the surviving craft-era houses. The later stops leave space to pause after the camp rather than following it with another demanding memorial. Confirm camp visitor access before departure and allow a meal break near the end of the route.
