Église Notre-Dame de Bordeaux
Near the Grand Théâtre, Notre-Dame gives a compact look at Bordeaux's richly carved Baroque church architecture. Its facade remains the main draw when interior access is uncertain.
The church's decorated front makes Place du Chapelet more than a crossing between nearby streets. Above the entrance, the Virgin gives the rosary to Saint Dominic, a scene that explains the square's name. The curved facade and its sculptural detail reward a pause; inside, the organ case and chapels extend the visit if open.
What to look for
The rosary relief above the entrance, tied to Place du Chapelet's name.
Curving Baroque facade with columns, sculpture and carved detail.
The organ case and side chapels, if interior access is available.
Useful to know
See the facade while walking between Place du Chapelet and the Grand Théâtre area.
Confirm interior access if the organ or chapels are your reason for coming.
