Korean Victims and Survivors Memorial
The Korean victims’ memorial recognizes Koreans killed and affected by the atomic bombing. It broadens the story of who lived and suffered in wartime Hiroshima.
Why go
Koreans were among the people living and working in Hiroshima in 1945, and the memorial was later moved into Peace Memorial Park. Its own design and history invite attention to nationality, forced labor and remembrance. Visit it as a distinct stop rather than treating the park’s memorials as interchangeable.
