Palaces and the Ben Youssef Quarter

Compare El Badi and Bahia palaces in the south, then move north toward the Almoravid Koubba, Marrakech Museum and Ben Youssef Madrasa. Majorelle is an optional cross-city addition.

Palaces and the Ben Youssef Quarter

Why go

The route makes two architectural clusters feel like one connected story: open palace ruins and decorated rooms in the south, followed by older religious and scholarly buildings in the north. It suits travelers who prefer close looking and are happy to walk between districts. Leave Majorelle for another day if the interiors demand time. The change from El Badi’s scale to Bahia’s detail is a useful starting contrast. Around Ben Youssef, the Koubba and madrasa then reveal earlier layers that can disappear in a palace-only visit.
