Maxbrücke
Cross the Maxbrücke, Nuremberg’s oldest stone bridge within the city, for a compact look at the western Pegnitz riverfront. It is a short pedestrian crossing.
Why go
Its stone construction contrasts with the nearby covered Henkersteg and suspended Kettensteg. Walking these crossings in sequence makes the river’s built history legible without needing a formal tour. The bridge is also a useful vantage point for Weinstadel and the surrounding riverside buildings.
What to look for
The stone bridge spans the western Pegnitz.
The bridge offers views of neighboring crossings and riverfront buildings.
