El Miguelete
Climb the cathedral’s Gothic bell tower for a high view over central Valencia, accepting 207 steps and an increasingly narrow spiral stair near the top.
Why go
El Miguelete turns a cathedral visit into a physical climb with a clear visual payoff. The octagonal tower rises through vaulted chambers to the bell room and terrace, where the old city’s roofs, church towers and street pattern are easier to understand than they are at ground level.
What to look for
The octagonal Gothic tower is almost as wide around as it is high to the terrace.
A spiral stair passes vaulted chambers before narrowing near the bell room.
The terrace opens a broad view across the roofs of Ciutat Vella.
Useful to know
Do the climb before the cathedral interior if steep stairs are likely to tire you.
Allow people to pass on the narrow spiral sections and keep both hands free for the ascent.
