Anella Olímpica
The Olympic Ring is Montjuïc’s open-air cluster of 1992 Games landmarks. The esplanade lets you compare the stadium, Palau Sant Jordi and public sculptures without entering the venues.
Why go
This is the place to read Barcelona’s Olympic architecture as a group. The stadium façade, Arata Isozaki’s indoor arena and the telecommunications tower give the esplanade several distinct forms to compare. It works as an outdoor walk, with venue entry governed separately.
What to look for
The stadium façade faces the public esplanade.
Palau Sant Jordi’s roofline is visible from outside.
The telecommunications tower punctuates the Olympic skyline.
Useful to know
Use the esplanade for an exterior circuit; check each venue separately if you hope to enter.
Allow for the uphill position when combining the Ring with lower Montjuïc museums.
