Why go
This walk suits visitors who want to follow Bordeaux’s older streets and landmarks without committing to a long museum visit. Spend time in the Saint-Michel quarter before looking at the basilica and Porte de Bourgogne. Pont de Pierre gives a different view back toward the city; the route then returns through Porte Cailhau toward the cathedral. Saint-André and Tour Pey-Berland provide a strong finish around the same square. The tower is the most time-consuming stop, so leave enough energy for it and check its visiting arrangements if you plan to go inside.
