Bristol Hippodrome
The Bristol Hippodrome is an Edwardian theatre in the city centre. Come for a booked show or tour; its auditorium, rather than the street exterior, is the main reason to visit.
Frank Matcham designed the theatre, which opened in 1912. Its three-level auditorium still frames large touring productions and pantomime, connecting a modern night out with the building's stage history. The show you choose determines the experience, so the programme matters more than a general sightseeing stop.
