Casa del Chapiz
Two sixteenth-century Morisco houses form this Albaicín site above the Darro valley. Visit for their courtyards and garden setting, with steep neighborhood streets part of the approach.
Why go
Casa del Chapiz lets you see domestic architecture that differs from Granada’s palaces and churches. The paired houses, courtyard spaces and garden make sense of how a home occupied a hillside plot near the road to Sacromonte. Its later restoration also explains why these buildings remain legible after a long period of altered use.
