Palacio de Dar al-Horra
Dar al-Horra is a small Nasrid palace in the Albaicín. Its courtyard and upper rooms bring Granada's royal domestic architecture into a quieter neighborhood setting.
The palace was associated with Aixa, mother of the last Nasrid ruler. Its pool, arcaded galleries and plaster decoration reveal a private scale distinct from the Alhambra's larger palace complex. The upper viewpoint also connects the enclosed courtyard with the hillside outside.
What to look for
A small pool anchors the central courtyard.
Arcaded galleries rise over two levels around the patio.
Nasrid plasterwork survives in the palace rooms.
Useful to know
Combine this interior with an Albaicín walk and check its own timetable before setting out.
