Honkawa Elementary School Peace Museum
Honkawa’s surviving school building now interprets the bombing through the lives of pupils and staff. It adds a local classroom perspective near the river.
Why go
School buildings were part of the city’s ordinary fabric before the bombing. This preserved part of Honkawa Elementary School places children and education at the center of the story, with displays in the building itself. It is a smaller, more focused visit than the main museum, and sits across the river from the peace park.
