Peace Tower
The Peace Tower is Parliament's defining vertical landmark, with a clock, bell tower and Memorial Chamber. Current construction means planning it as an exterior landmark rather than promising tower access.
The tower's height makes it a useful orientation point from the canal locks, the riverbank, and the Gatineau shore. The clock and stone silhouette anchor views from several sides of the capital, making the tower more rewarding as part of a city walk than an inaccessible interior goal.
What to look for
A clock face and tall stone shaft punctuate the parliamentary skyline.
Useful to know
Treat the tower as an exterior landmark until official visitor access changes.
