Why go
Casa Carbonell gives Alicante’s early-20th-century waterfront a monumental architectural focus. Textile entrepreneur Enrique Carbonell commissioned architect Juan Vidal to create a residence whose domes, symmetry and decorative façade still command the transition between promenade and harbour at the heart of the public seafront.
What to look for
- Twin domed forms give the roofline a distinctive silhouette from the seafront.
- Balconies and pale stonework build a richly layered façade above the Explanada.
- Its corner position frames the meeting point of old town, promenade and port.
Useful to know
- Treat Casa Carbonell as an exterior architecture stop unless current interior access is confirmed.
- View the whole façade from farther along the Explanada before crossing for details.
- Combine it with the port, Paseo de Gómiz or Gabriel Miró Square on the same walk.
