Bastejkalns turns a simple transfer into a walk with changing levels and canal views. The hill and its paths offer a different perspective on the tightly packed centre, especially after the flat Old Town streets. It deserves a deliberate loop even when you only have half an hour.

- Winding paths climb above the canal beside the Freedom Monument.
