From the Seoul World / Itineraries

Seoul’s Historic Core and Beyond

A day of landscapes and layered history, moving from central palaces and mountain terrain toward the Hangang, Yeouido and an elevated city view.

Seoul’s Historic Core and Beyond

Why go

Begin with Deoksugung Palace and Gyeonghuigung Palace, then decide whether the active anchor will be an Inwangsan Mountain hike or a shorter cultural stop at Myeongdong Cathedral. The National Folk Museum of Korea can extend the palace history, but its location makes it a deliberate choice. Later, follow Seoul’s geography south to the Hangang River and Yeouido, finishing at 63 SkyPicnic at 63 Building when an elevated view suits the conditions. Namsan Mountain is a scenic alternative; covering both mountains and every indoor stop would weaken the pacing.
