Colonial Park Cemetery
Colonial Park Cemetery is a compact burial ground in the historic center, with old markers and shaded paths. It gives a quieter look at Savannah’s eighteenth- and nineteenth-century lives.
This is the city’s oldest intact municipal cemetery, distinct from the larger Bonaventure and Laurel Grove grounds. Its six-acre scale makes it practical between other downtown stops, while the grave markers reward slow reading. The city controls pedestrian access by season, so treat it as a timed daytime walk rather than an always-open shortcut.
