Chippewa Square
Chippewa Square centers on the James Oglethorpe monument, with historic theater frontage nearby. It is a compact stop for Savannah’s founding image and nineteenth-century urban setting.
The monument gives a specific reason to enter the square, while the surrounding streets show how civic green space met entertainment and everyday city life. The famous film association draws attention, but the actual bench used on screen is at the Savannah History Museum. Come for the real monument and setting, not a missing prop.
