Centennial Flame
The Centennial Flame marks Canada's centennial and the provinces and territories at the forecourt of Parliament Hill. It works as a brief orientation point rather than a long standalone visit.
Notice the provincial and territorial shields around the basin before looking up to the far larger stone buildings beyond it. Its small scale makes a useful first pause before the much larger blocks, especially when the forecourt is busy and a full architectural tour would feel rushed.
What to look for
Provincial and territorial shields ring the flame's basin.
Useful to know
Use the flame as a brief pause at the entrance to Parliament Hill.
