All Souls College
All Souls stands between the High Street and Radcliffe Square, with a formal quad, chapel and distinctive towers. It is a college of fellows without undergraduates.
All Souls shows a different kind of Oxford college from those built around undergraduate teaching. Founded in 1438, it now centres on research, while its Front Quad, chapel and Great Quad carry the architectural story. The Hawksmoor towers are especially easy to connect with views from Radcliffe Square.
What to look for
The Front Quad leads towards the college chapel.
The Great Quad is marked by the paired Hawksmoor towers.
The chapel's reredos is a focal point of the interior.
Useful to know
Look at the Hawksmoor towers from Radcliffe Square before approaching the High Street entrance.
Check the college visitor page for access to the quads and chapel.
